Sometimes the characters in my stories speak louder than I can. I excerpt this little gem from a statement by Brian Frost in Living Next Door to Heaven:
"I
think that to be an atheist or an agnostic, you have to care. I don’t. I don’t
care if there is a god or not, or if there are twenty of them or hundreds. It’s
irrelevant. There are good people and there are people who are not as good. I
won’t even call them bad, though I do believe that the pain we inflict upon
each other is evil."
