At long last, I have a new home!

I ordered my new Lance 2465 travel trailer back in April and have been waiting all summer for it to arrive. I got a surprise call from my dealer, Hills Auto & RV in Yakima WA, on Wednesday indicating the trailer had arrived late that evening and I could pick it up on Thursday. I quickly finished moving out of my fifth wheel (almost everything), and Thursday morning I headed to Yakima.

I have to say that after such a long wait, the process of getting the trailer, getting the financing set, and getting insurance went very fast. It's a wonderful 72nd birthday present to myself.

I have it back at my campsite in Idaho for a few weeks and I love it! It was rock solid towing it with no sway, shaking from the wind, or drag. Now I'm slowly moving my possessions into the new trailer, making sure to evaluate every item before it goes into the new trailer. I'm hoping every other thing I pick up will need to be discarded!

I've already managed to write a full chapter of my current WIP while sitting at the dining table, which may take the place of my recliner as my major working space. However, that sofa is awfully comfortable and might entice me over there.

Speaking of works in progress, I was quite surprised to receive notice that it was time to declare our projects for NaNoWriMo already. I'm rapidly trying to finish at least one of my current works in progress before I get distracted with my NaNoWriMo project. Team Manager COACH! is currently at chapter 39 of what I thought would be 40, however, characters and storylines being what they are, it's currently looking like it will be closer to 45 chapters. I just need to keep working.

And that means I'm working several months ahead of the publishing curve at the moment. This coming Friday, October 1, the second book in that series will be released.

It will be available in eBook and print on most major outlets. So, with that one almost ready to release, I'm nearly finished writing the next one. Life continues to be interesting.

Back to NaNoWriMo

I've declared my November WIP to be Bob's Memoir: 4000 years as a free demon. Perhaps you've never heard of a demon named Bob. Well, it happened like this: Back in about 2,000 BC in Knossos on Crete, a Minoan prince (Drakomaxos) wanted an air conditioned house so it would "remain cool year round." He employed a local mage to work an enchantment on his house to cool it. The mage, Pinaruti, was an inept adept. He had all the books with all the spells that he had created over the years and that were passed down to him by his own master when he was an apprentice. But Pinaruti had a weakness for alcohol and always took a little wine to settle his nerves before working a major spell.

Only a bottle or two.

Pinaruti decided the best way to make the house cool would be to summon a powerful demon to infiltrate the walls and keep the house cool. In attempting to summon Beezlebub, Pinaruti slurred the name to Beetlebob and our friendly demon had his start in the human world. Sadly, for Pinaruti, the reality of having summoned an actual demon so shocked him that he died of heart failure on the spot, his body forming a convenient bridge from the heart of the summoning circle to the outside world. A bridge that Beetlebob happily crossed.

Now, the happy-go-lucky (mostly lucky) demon travels the human world, enjoying the company of women (and occasionally men) of every age; and occasionally, working a spell or two of his own. These spells seldom turn out exactly the way he planned (just like Pinaruti's) but they usually turn out okay. Sometimes surprisingly so.

So, there you have the makings of my NaNoWriMo work in progress. A little spooky. A little sexy. A lot funny! Probably, a Devon Layne novel.

During November, my patreon $10/month patrons will be able to read over my shoulder as I post what I've written each day. Don't miss out!
